The Umoja countdown clock is winding down towards the day when National Staff and Individual Uniformed Personnel start using Umoja.

As with other deployments, getting ready for "Go-Live" on 1 November has required much coordination. However, rolling out Umoja functionality to over 20,000 staff in the field has been anything but ordinary, given the hazardous conditions colleagues have had to endure, from evacuations and curfews to security concerns.

BI SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER 
On Saturday, 15 October 2016, the Umoja Business Intelligence system will be unavailable from 08:00 am to 10:00 am CET (2:00 am to 4:00 am NY time) to facilitate essential maintenance. 

All ECC/Portal/SRM systems will operate as normal during this time. Please refer to the Umoja System Status page to view the maintenance plan and alerts.

Dear colleagues,

On 1 November 2016, Umoja will reach another milestone with the deployment of Cluster 5, comprised of National Staff and Individual Uniformed Personnel in DFS supported Missions. The deployment will expand the Umoja Extension 1 functionality of Human resources, Payroll and Insurance. National Staff will use Employee and Manager Self-Service to request and approve leave, update personal information, manage dependency allowances, benefits, and work and life events.

UNIFIL held an Umoja Open Day on 30 September 2016 at the Mission’s headquarters in Naqoura. The event started with the Head of Mission/Force Commander addressing staff members by emphasising the importance of the Cluster 5 deployment and thanking them for their efforts and commitment for its implementation in the mission.

The new Umoja Reporting page is live! One of the transformative benefits of Umoja is the ability to conduct complex and real-time analysis of key data. Umoja reports allow UN staff to search, view and analyse a variety of metrics to improve work efficiency as well as support strategic planning and decision-making.

UMOJA PRODUCTION SYSTEMS UNAVAILABLE SATURDAY 1 OCTOBER  
As announced by Unite Service Desk, the Citrix portal used to access Umoja (login.umoja.un.org) will be unavailable this Saturday, 1 October 2016, between 8:00 am and 11:00 am CET (2:00 am to 5:00 am New York time) due to regular monthly maintenance of the Citrix access layer.

The ability to view, analyse and understand trends in data will enable strategic planning like never before.
