Umoja Self-Service Leave Actions during Payroll Lock

In case you missed the recent broadcast, we have enhanced Umoja to allow staff to take leave-related actions in Umoja Self-Service at any time, even during payroll lock.

While leave can be requested and approved during the payroll lock, leave balances will be updated only after the payroll lock period.

Until now, Umoja Self-Service functionality for leave-related actions had to be constrained during payroll processing in order to mitigate the impact on payroll.

This enhancement to standard SAP functionality was implemented to improve the experience of staff and managers in response to several suggestions to improve the user experience.

As part of the continuous improvement program and the overall effort to improve end users’ experience, business focal points, and the Umoja team will continue to enhance additional ESS/MSS functionalities to be available during payroll lock in the future.
