Introducing Umoja Mobile

The Umoja team in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC) is excited to introduce Umoja Mobile, an enhanced SAP platform that is optimized to deliver a personalized and simplified user experience across all devices (desktops, tablets and mobile phones).

The user-centered design of the platform strives to provide an intuitive flow.

The first release of Umoja Mobile went live at the end of June with the following entities:

  • Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP);
  • Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA UNHQ);
  • United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna and its Regional Office in Eastern Africa (ROEA);
  • United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (UNSCO); and
  • United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO).

The first release includes Time & Attendance and Pay Statements applications.

Time & Attendance

The Time & Attendance application includes all leave types that are either auto-approved or approved solely by a time manager and will give staff and managers the flexibility to take leave-related actions quickly and conveniently from any device.

Staff can also track the status of submitted requests as well as check leave balance points.

Pay Statements

The Pay Statements application will allow the users to conveniently view and print their current as well as past pay statements.

Learn More

Umoja Mobile will be extended to more entities within Q3 2019 and will be deployed to the entire Organization by Q1 2020, with additional functionalities being developed.

Umoja Mobile complements the functionalities that are already available in Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS). Staff will continue to have full access to ESS and MSS.

“Umoja Mobile is an important part of our commitment to make Umoja more user-friendly and accessible anytime on mobile devices. We hope you like it and we look forward to adding more Umoja applications to the mobile platform,” says Chandru Ramanathan, Controller and Assistant Secretary-General, ERP-Umoja.
