Umoja Mobile is now available to all Secretariat staff

Umoja Mobile is now available to all UN Secretariat staff across the globe, including peacekeeping and special political missions, following the earlier deployments in 2019.

Umoja Mobile delivers a personalized and simplified user experience. It can be used across all devices (mobile phones, tablets, notebooks and desktops).

Umoja Mobile allows staff to conduct the following functions without using Citrix (often referred to as the “Umoja Access Layer”):

  • Time & Attendance – submit leave requests, check leave balances (including home leave points), track the status of submitted requests and approve leave requests.
  • Pay Statements–  view and print current and past pay statements.

Umoja Mobile complements the functionalities that are already available in Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS). Staff will continue to have full access to ESS and MSS.

When using a browser on any device, simply go to http://mobile.umoja.un.org and login with your Unite ID credentials.

For more guidance in navigating Umoja Mobile, training is available online through iLearn Umoja and consists of three short courses:

1. Accessing the Umoja Mobile App (for all staff): 2 minutes

2. My Paystubs & Leave Requests (for all staff): 10 minutes

3. Approving Leave Requests Using Umoja Mobile (for time managers): 2.5 minutes

Support for Umoja Mobile will be provided by Employee Self-Service focal points or by Local Service Desks at Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions.

If the issue is not resolved locally, an iNeed ticket should be submitted through the Unite Service Desk.

As always, for guidance on time and attendance or other human resources matters, please contact your HR focal point.

Umoja Mobile was developed and deployed by the Umoja Team in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance. The Umoja Coordination Service in the Department of Operational Support and the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs provided coordination and support in launching the application to peacekeeping and special political missions.
