There are several related initiatives that are being implemented concurrently with Umoja within the United Nations Secretariat. The Umoja Team will work closely with the various project teams (within the Department or Office shown in parentheses) to avoid duplication and ensure harmonization of processes and platforms. They include:

• IPSAS - adoption of the international public sector accounting system (Department of Management); IPSAS site accesible to UN staff only: http://ipsas.un.org/
• Talent Management System - to help find, attract and retain talent (Department of Management)
• Global Field Support Strategy - transforming delivery of support services to United Nations field missions (Department of Field Support)
• Enterprise Content Management (ECM) - to organize and manage documents and other information in a variety of media, such as website, e-mail, picture, and video (Office of Information and Communications Technology)
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - to manage and monitor the vast array of day-to-day services provided (Office of Information and Communications Technology)
• Fuel Management System - to manage fuel resources in peacekeeping missions (Department of Field Support)
• Rations Management System - to manage rations for peacekeeping troops (Department of Field Support).
